Dr. Peter Lok studied Cultural Studies at Coventry University in the United Kingdom. After returning to Hong Kong, he completed a Master of Philosophy in the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of Hong Kong. He then joined Logos Publishers as an editor and later served with the Fellowship of Evangelical Students (FES), focusing on student and training ministries.
He obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (joint program) from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the Institute for Christian Studies in Canada, specializing in contemporary French philosophy and Dutch Reformed philosophy. His research interests include contemporary cultural theory, Hong Kong identity studies, affective capitalism, cultural theology, and practical theology.
Dr. Lok previously served as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Humanities and Creative Writing at Hong Kong Baptist University, where he taught courses in Hong Kong Studies and Western Philosophy. In 2025, he completed a Master of Theological Studies at Regis College, University of Toronto.
